About Chi Sparks

Why We Exist

Our Mission

Chi Sparks exists to make youth sports accessible to every kid in Chicago — regardless of zip code, income, or experience level. We believe sport is one of the most powerful tools for building confidence, resilience, and community.

Founded in 2019 by a group of coaches and parents in Humboldt Park, we started with one soccer program and 22 kids. Today we serve 500+ children across 9 sports — and we're just getting started.

  • Free and low-cost programs for all families
  • Expert coaches who care about the whole child
  • Programs across Chicago neighborhoods
  • Multi-sport exploration for ages 5–12

What Drives Us

Our Values

Inclusion First

Every child belongs here — regardless of ability, background, or experience. We build programs that welcome everyone.

Joy of Play

We believe sport should be fun above all else. When kids love what they're doing, the skills follow naturally.

Safe Spaces

Physical and emotional safety are non-negotiable. Our coaches are trained in youth development and first aid.

Community Roots

We're a Chicago organization, built by and for Chicago families. Every program is designed with our neighborhoods in mind.
